Two dormitories – Bří. Žůrků in Komárov and Mánesova in Královo Pole – will remain open to ensure the 2025 summertime operations for MU students.
The overall capacity of 842 exceeds quite comfortably the standard demand seen over recent years. Current residents started filing their applications on 2 June. Two years ago the dormitory at Mánesova was fully renovated, which included new flooring and furniture. Its amenities include ping-pong or foosball. The dormitory at Bří. Žůrků underwent overall renovation in 2024, with new units featuring a double and a triple room with a shared bathroom, as well as shared kitchens on each floor. The amenities at this dormitory include a fully-equipped gym, multi-purpose court and forested yard.
The first round of reservations of dormitories for the 2025/2026 academic year is well underway for the current residents. From the first day (which was 5 May) a total of 1,654 students have submitted their applications.
The Accommodation and Catering Services (ACS) aims to improve the comfort of its residents, and will continue to do so in the final weeks of the academic year and during the summer. Apart from regular summertime maintenance several scheduled reconstruction projects have started.
